What types of mental health services do you offer?

We offer individual therapy, family therapy, EMDR therapy (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), and play therapy. Our clinicians are trained in treating a wide range of concerns including anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, relationship issues, and more.

Who are your therapists?

Our team includes licensed counselors and clinical social workers. You can view their bios and specialties on our Meet the Team page.

How do I schedule an appointment?

You can request an appointment by calling our office, filling out the online form, or by emailing healthyrootscounseling.office@gmail.com. We’ll match you with a clinician who fits your needs and preferences.

What can I expect during my first session?

Your first session is an opportunity for your therapist to get to know you and understand your concerns, goals, and history. It’s a collaborative conversation, and there’s no pressure to share more than you’re comfortable with.

How long are therapy sessions?

Most individual therapy sessions last about 55 minutes.

Do you offer virtual therapy?

Yes, we offer secure telehealth sessions via video for clients located in eligible regions. This can be a flexible and convenient option for many.

Do you accept insurance?

We are in-network with a variety of insurance plans. Including: Ambetter, Anthem/BCBS, Atena, Cigna, Home State Health/MO Healthy Kids(Medicaid), Mercy EAP and Mercy Health Plans, Optum EAP, UMR, UnitedHealthCare, and UnitedHealthCare Community Plans (Medicaid).

If we are out of network, we can provide documentation for out of network reimbursement.

How do I pay for sessions?

We accept credit/debit cards, HSA/FSA cards, and some forms of electronic payment. Payment is typically due at the time of service.

Is therapy confidential?

Yes. Everything discussed in your sessions is confidential and protected by law. There are a few exceptions, such as if there is a risk of harm to yourself or others, which your therapist will review with you during the first session.

Will my employer or family know I’m coming to therapy?

Not unless you choose to share that information. We do not disclose any information to outside parties without your written consent.

If you are utilizing an EAP program, members of that program will be aware of sessions. That is only for billing purposes and content of session will not be disclosed without your knowledge.

What if I need immediate help?

If you are experiencing a mental health emergency, please call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room. You can also contact the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline at 988 for 24/7 support.
